Default need rants, resources, anecdotes, perspectives

I am a writer for our officer spouses' newsletter, and am an officer's spouse (i.e. civilian) and am looking for any and all resources that deal with the experiences, training, ect for officers that I as a civilian am allowed to read / have access to.

I am looking for:
your stories, your insights, your beefs;

training materials on what officers mentalities/mindsets are (or developing them, especially);

materials that deal with instructing officers on what they emotionally and psychologically will encounter, and how to deal with it;

counseling resources for officers;

studies on officers experiences;

statistics;

anecdotes;

insights.

Please put this out there, forward to friends, pm me their email address and i will respond from my private email (assuming they aren't on this forum)...whatever... pm me for my private email and i'll give that...

I am looking for all this for a specific reason: I am a freelance writer working on a series of articles geared to building relationships/strengthening relationships between officers and spouses. I am wanting to get as sure a grasp on the world of the officer as I can so I can help spouses understand that, and work through expectations those spouses (out of a lack of perspective) may have upon their officer-spouses. I guess you could say it is slanted towards the officer, being sensitive/understanding the needs/experiences of the officers as best a civilian can.

So far the bulk of my research has come from issues addressed by LEO professionals writing in the F.B.I. Law Enforcement Bulletins, and it has been invaluable. I would like some other varied sources. Any thing anyone of you can add can help, even if it is just a bitch about clueless spouse, or a rant.

I've got stories for ya. See my previous posts.

As for the life of a cop...Imagine going to dead baby calls or calls of stepping on chunks of skull on a crash scene, then go to an alarm call right after that and have some rich d-bag gripe about something like you not guarding her street 24/7 like she wants.
You go from 0-60 and back down again in seconds in our line of work.

Search the big networks like officer.com etc. for more data.

Talking

I'll tell you everything you want to know as soon as you tell me how to avoid pissing off my spouse when I tell her she has to go to work late or cancel plans because I just got called into court on my day off and I'm supposed to be watching the kids.

G-money I just smile, shrug and tell her "overtime, cha-ching".
Nuff said.
