Thanks! and sure thats not a problem.

Well I mailed in my app (oct 10th? 11th?) then was called for an interview.
I drove out to west tx and had the interview on Oct 19th.
After the interviews I was ranked 2nd.
The 1st place guy either failed his BI or quit (I dont know) but after I was 1st everything really took off.
I had to wait a week for the Sheriff to handle some paperwork.
Then last week I sent in copies of my L3, L2 and signed my L1.
Early last week I was also fingerprinted for the DPS/FBI database and mailed those off the the SO.

The interview was oct 19th so the process has been fairly fast compared to places my academy buddies are applying. If you have any more Qs (or if I didnt explain something) let me know.

No polygraph?

Nope, its a really small department so that probably has something to do with it.

Some of my academy buddies have A LOT of hoops to jump through (written test, pt test, poly, 2-3 interviews etc)

The department I am applying with has 3 positions (the sheriff, 1 full time deputy (hopefully me) and a part-time deputy job)

Outstanding there young Rookie:rock:, now repeat after me ( you can raise your right hand if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside)

The FTO is the one that will teach me the ropes, I shall learn and inquire when I do not understand something and I will bring him a biscuit and coffee every morning.http://www.texascops.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Ok its official now, since I will not be your FTO, you can practice the art of fetching coffee and biscuits and bringing to me. I will report your progress to your FTO, I swear I will...

All joking aside Bro welcome to the family and watch your six.

Shadow Out!!

Congratulations Maverick! :goodjob: Good Luck with your career. It sounds exciting. Gain wisdom from fellow officers, in the field, and here. I believe in gaining knowledge from those who have had experience. Can't wait to hear your first adventure.

Get some!
Just do not quit!

I had an in-law quit in his FTO phase for a small county dept.

Get this, he thought his FTO's were too hard on him! Good riddance, douchebag.

Right around the corner. Congratulations on getting a job.

One Sheriff, one full time deputy huh? I guess that means we can start with the Barney Fife jokes then?

How many bullets is he giving you? :nana::nana:
