I have the solution, shitcan it.
I have had thousands of public contacts over the years and probably near a thousand arrests too. If my word is not enough then lets stop arresting people. A camera is a tool used to ASSIST in prosecution. Nowadays people say that if it is not on tape then it did not happen! Bullcrap.
We have cameras in our cars and body microphones. I have used them for the last 6 years or so and they work most of the time. When they do NOT work or are not turned on people have an annurism and accuse you of hiding something or something similarly worthy of a tinfoil hat.
It is ridiculous but I will wear one if I have to. It can record me pissing and taking a dump too. I will pay special attention to checking out my handy work when I am done at the throne.:poop:

This is the shittiest idea ever concieved of for two reasons...
1.) If I say "fuck" the public will have an aneurysm. Regardless of the fact that the guy calls me about 10 vulgar names previously, doesn't respond to polite verbiage, and just raped a child.
2.) The public generally and as a rule does not understand what we do and why we do it. Often this is by design. I don't want them to "know it all", because sometimes defeating a potential threat or discovering a crime could be hampered by such knowledge.
We are accountable to the public but by no means does that translate into becoming human reality shows. In what other serious profession on the face of the planet would it be considered acceptable to walk around with a camera on your lapel all day for the purposes of maintaining a squeaky clean image.
