How many do you use and where on your belt?

I used 5 (one is a keyholder/keeper) throughout the academy but I am going to add 2 more once I get a job

I have 2 on my R side (1 front/behind pistol) 2 on the opposite side and the key holder one in front.
I am going to buy 2 of the larger keepers to have in back once I get hired on and keep the "normal" ones where they are.

I use 3.
Left, right by holster and rear between cuff cases.

SEVEN keepers? Where the hell are you going to put all the tools on your belt? That's WAY to many.

I use four...sometimes three. Single snap wide. One up front on the non-gun side, one around back on the non-gun side, and one on either side of the holster.

I had problems w/my belt sliding around throughout the academy and it just didnt feel right until I used the 2 large ones in the back...I am not going to use all 7 but I am going to use the 2 large ones in the back, 2 next to my weapon and one of the opposite side

I've seen quite a few officers have two of the double keepers in the back. What is the reasoning for putting a keeper in front and behind the holster? Is it to make sure your weapon is as stable as possible?

I used 1 on each side because when I had only 1 keeper near my holster it would twist/torque when drawing my weapon. With 2 keepers it I found that it is much more stable and a more consistent draw that before.

Word.

Also, when you are rolling around on the ground you do not want the holster to shift and end up out of position. Also when you do gun grab training you will see that 2 keepers near the gu are a good thing.

Especially when you're carrying in a level III. The more sturdy it is, the more smooth the draw is.

Another question - any input on which way to have the "tails" of the keepers? Up or down and why?

You can really only wear them 2 ways. I put my male snaps down, away from my body, slid from top to bottom between my pants belt and my pants.
This way, they snap in a downward fashion so to unsnap I have to lift them up. Some guys like it the opposite as mine so the car seat does not unsnap it when they sit down.

Try to wear 2 one way, 2 the other and within a week or so of daily use you will find out which one is for YOU.

You are correct sir!
once I actually got a job and got out on the streets I only use 5.
Anymore would be crazy (for me at least)
