I'm starting to think about what I need to put together to keep in my duty bag and would like some input. Here's the list I've put together - what do you think? What do you keep in your duty bag?

Extra cuffs
Duty gloves
Latex gloves
4 cell Mag light
Pens/pencils
Extra magazines/ammo
Gerber multi tool
first aid kit
penal code/traffic code quick reference
various forms
hand sanitizer

Three clipboards and a box of "throw down" pens. Throw down pens are what you hand to scumbags who may have blood on them, or are just so disgusting or diseased that you don't want your pen back.

Cheapest ones you can buy will work.

A good Map of the surrounding community as well as your jurisdiction.

A cross street reference guide for your jurisdiction. So much quicker than a map.

One of those white out strip things is handy.

EVERY form the PD puts out...several copies.

Car chargers for all your rechargeable shit.

Flashlight cone.

A partridge in a pear tree.

Eye protection can be cheapshit but something to protect your mark 1's when in hazardous enviroment.
cleaning kit can be minimum but somehting to clear shit that gets in your barrel of your rifle or handgun
extra battery for your portable radio
I carry a bag-o-chem lites for use for marking rooms that I checked or bad guys that i have searched.

and the rest of what my esteemed collegues listed.

How about a can of disenfectant spray and a can of Off? I have both in all of my vehicles. I'm not an officer but I am a Mom and use both items all the time. LOL

I think that someone already had bug spray. However, yes. A big jug of hand sanitizer is a must. If you share cars you'll also need some Clorox wipes.

I carry wipes and bunches of hand sanitizer. In my bag I have smaller plastic bags, sharps containers, NBS gear to include pro mask. I also have some of those cheap dog leashes animal control gives you to snag strays.

I'd go with nitrile gloves over latex...more chemical resistant

I steal them from EMS whenever I can. We are only issued rubbers.

We have boxes of them in our booking room. I stuff four pairs into a small pouch on my duty belt.

I usually keep two pair in my back pants pocket.
I used them more on patrol than I do now but I will use them often for vehicle searches.
