I have hear arguments for both, which side should/do you have your baton and why? The argument I've heard for weak side placement on your duty belt is mainly to keep your gun hand free and/or preventing interference with drawing your weapon. The argument for strong side placement I've heard is mainly that you will be able to swing harder, etc. with your strong hand. Opinions?

I like mine on strong side.

When I have it lefty I swing it like a commo puke.
Oops, sorry about that.:nana:

I say strong side. I'm not ambidextrious; off hand swings would get me comments like "you hit like a girl". That said, I see several carry "crossdraw" that seems to work for them. Try em all & see what works best for you.

Back when I carried a baton it was weak side at an angle. When it came out (rarely) it would be a strong hand cross draw. One fluid motion to expand it.
That also kept it clear of my weapon, which I have to rock back to draw.

I carry my Asp baton on the strong side of my belt directly behind my duty pistol. I do this because it can be used to assist with weapon retention in the event that someone tries to grab you weapon. You can crush the piss out of their hand. It works really well.

This is how I carried it and to me is the best way to carry it.
Try standing in a interview stance with your hand on the baton. You can have your hand on the baton and if needed draw without hesitation. If you need your gun one step back and draw the gun.
Putting the baton behind or in front of the holster is asking for trouble.

Strong side. Its technically a weapon and should be carried on the strong side.
