OK, so I have been reviewing some of these department applications with the family cadet and some of the questions have been causing significant discussion in our household:
Last summer, the cadet's boss asked him to swap faucets with an empty tenant next door after telling cadet that he had gotten permission from the landlord to do so in order to fix leaky faucet in boss' shop. Cadet was told later by boss that he really did not have permission from landlord - now cadet is worried this activity will prevent him from being hired on anywhere. As I do not have a law enforcement background I am having trouble giving good advice. Any advice for cadet would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1.) Why isn't he asking us this stuff?

2.) Put it in context. How do all the parties relate? What is his job?

He wasn't sure about asking in a public forum, so I took the initiative to. In context - he works for a small shop in a strip center. The landlord owns all of the strip center, so the faucets both belong to the landlord and are still on the landlords property.

As a follow-up - I convinced cadet to call one of the recruiting departments to ask them directly and they advised him that it was not an issue. Thanks.

No, unless he gets arrested and convicted of a crime, nothing to worry about.
