WASHINGTON – A Washington, D.C., police officer is on desk duty while the department investigates reports he pulled a gun during a mass snowball fight on a city street.
Mayor Adrian Fenty said Monday the police department's internal affairs office is investigating witness accounts and video footage.
Police said in a release that images and statements appeared to support claims the off-duty officer did pull a gun after he and his personal car were hit by snowballs.
Hundreds of people were gathered for the snowball fight during Saturday's record snowstorm.
A video posted on YouTube showed a man holding what appears to be a gun in the snowy street. Another video shows the same man telling people he is a detective and that he pulled his gun because he was hit by snowballs.

Not going to go well for him. He would've been just fine had he not drawn.

The people in that crowd are a bunch of fucking morons too. I'd love to crack some of their skulls too just for being stupid. It's actually pretty indicative of the DC crowd. A bunch of egghead feminized weasels who like to run their mouths but couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

Of course, he does have an out in this one...but it's going to be up to him to prove it.

The video we see here shows him after he drew his gun. If he was getting pelted prior to the video start and prior to drawing, he might be able to justify it.

Say he got cracked in the dome with an ice ball that rung his bell. You might be able to justify his level of force. Something like that should leave a mark.

Notice one thing...the throwers are almost all white and the Detective is black. Where are the cries of police racism?

It's funny like that.

Yeah I expect to Rev Al to start bumping his gums.

I was not there but it seems much to draw your pistola if you are OFF duty. he had a radio with him which leads me to believe he was ON duty, maybe a detective or something. On duty is good to go, draw that hog leg when you need to.

Why is he in the street trying to stop a bunch of morons snowball fighting?

He is indeed a detective and if I recall correctly he was pissed because a snowball hit his Hummer.

It's just not going to end well for him. Suspension if he's lucky.
