View Full Version : How do you adjust your duty belt?

I'm sure I am simply retarded but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to take off the buckle on my duty belt to put on the pouches, etc. it's a 2.25" inch "standard" leather duty belt. Any help?

you "fold" the belt w/the apex of the fold being inside square of the buckle...then push the buckle away from the apex (down) and the buckle hooks will slide out of the holes and the buckle will slide right off.

those instructions are pretty odd...let me know if you want pix

Thanks, I'll see if I can figure it out. Ferret said he'd walk me through it also but I figured I'd ask here first before bugging him :mrgreen:

I don't know what your belt looks like (since I have a Safariland!) but I have to slide everything through one end only, the other end has hooks embedded in it.
To move something around I usually need to slide everything off the belt and replace it one piece at a time through the same end of the belt.:shiner:

Very easy.

Pull the belt out of the buckle on the end that doesn't have the prongs on it.

Push the belt buckle towards the long end which should cause the prongs to rotate. Remove those two hooked prongs from the holes and slide the buckle off.

It might be a pain in the ass since the leather isn't broken in. By the way, figuring out the Sam Browne Belt buckle is a standard common sense test for all new cops.
